Absorption Chiller

Kawasaki absorption chillers can be powered by various heat sources like steam, natural gas, or waste heat, and are available in different models with specific capacities. Specifications vary by model, but general performance aspects include using a lithium bromide (LiBr) solution, achieving chilled water temperatures around 7℃ (45°F) with cooling tower water temperatures up to 37℃ (99°F) for certain units, and high efficiency through improved heat exchanger technology.

General specifications and features

Heat sources: Can be powered by steam, waste heat, natural gas, diesel, or hot water from sources like solar thermal systems.

Working fluid: Uses a LiBr (lithium bromide) solution.

Capacity: Varies significantly by model. For example, a specific industrial application had a cooling capacity of \(527kW\). Other models are available with a wide range of capacities.

Efficiency: Kawasaki has improved the efficiency of its chillers by using high-performance plate heat exchangers.

Chilled water/Brine temperature: Some models can provide chilled water at 7℃ (45°F) or brine at -7℃ (19°F)

Cooling water temperature: Can operate with cooling water up to 37℃ (99°F)

Durability: Known for being robust and long-lasting, with a typical lifespan of 15-40 years depending on maintenance.
